Poverty Reduction

Research

Beyond our support programs, we also recognize the importance of tackling the root causes of hunger and poverty through detailed research and policy solutions, province-wide reduction programs, and local partnership projects.

The OAFB engages in extensive work to reduce hunger through programs, policy and projects. This year, the OAFB is engaged in the development of a Social Investment Exchange by completing a Feasibility Study, and connecting with the development of social investment exchanges across the globe.

Esurio is Ontario's online journal of hunger and poverty, featuring research conducted by upper level undergraduate and graduate students at universities in Ontario.

We work diligently to produce high quality research to educate the public on issues of hunger and poverty, and influence the public policy directions of the provincial government.

We engage in province-wide programs and local projects with a number of partners on a regular basis to directly implement solutions that will reduce hunger and poverty for those we serve.
