In accordance with the Canadian Revenue Agency’s fiscal requirements for registered charities, the Ontario Association of Food Banks (OAFB) completes and submits audited financial statements on an annual basis. This is also completed to demonstrate to our donors and supporters that their gifts are used wisely. The OAFB directs 95% of its annual revenue to food, distribution, and programs and 5% or less on administration, finances and fundraising.
The OAFB’s fiscal year runs from April 1st to March 31st every year. Prior to 2010, the OAFB’s fiscal year ran from January 1st to December 31st. Please see below for a copy of our financial statements for the last five years.

Innovator finalist for a successful housefile building campaign to advocate and collect signatures for supporting a "Farm food donation tax credit".
The Ontario Trillium Foundation Great Grant Awards Nominee - Minister's Award, 2009
The OAFB was nominated as part of the Great Grant Awards presented by The Ontario Trillium Foundation among 45 potential grantees for establishing the food bank provincial distribution network between 2005 - 2008.

Established in 1996, these Awards recognize and celebrate outstanding partnerships between small or large businesses and nonprofit organizations that are finding innovative ways to support Canadian communities.
Certificate of Recognition by the Chief Energy Conservation Officer of Ontario in 2008
The OAFB was given this award alongside Friends of the Earth Canada, Enbridge and Union Gas for developing and delivering the Energy Greenbox, a conservation innovation that contributes to a culture of conservation in Ontario.
