About Us
The Ontario Association of Food Banks (OAFB) is a network of over 100 food banks from Windsor to Ottawa, and Thunder Bay to Niagara Falls. Since 1992, we have been committed to reducing hunger across the province.
Our Goals
The Ontario Association of Food Banks (OAFB) is guided by a clear vision, mission and goals. These statements ensure that we are meeting the needs of our members and those they serve across the province.
Staff & Board
We rely on many dedicated individuals to ensure we are able to carry out our mission to end hunger in communities across Ontario. Home Office staff, members of our Board of Directors, volunteers and friends all contribute to our success.
Member Food Banks
Though the first food bank in Canada officially opened in the city of Edmonton in 1981, the economic recession of the early 1980's also had a deep impact on Ontario. Its size and economic diversity weren't enough to protect the most vulnerable in its population.
